Where we started
Daniel Coy Farm was established in 1842. When Daniel Coy purchased a property from the land bank; The property from Wheeling St. to Coy St. and from Brown Rd. to Navarre Ave. Where he and his wife built a farm house for his growing family. He passed away during the cholera outbreak as he was tending to the deceased. His third son was born after his death but passed away at the age of two. His wife remarried a time after that but the property was left to Daniel`s sons whom continued on with his legacy. The Daniel Coy farm is still there today. The house is the oldest farmhouse in Oregon. After generations, the school disctrict of Oregon purchased the land at Pickle and Wheeling, where the school earned it`s namesake. Large parcels of the land have since been sold off but the great great great grandson is still the proprietor of the remaining property. Where he has carried on his family`s legacy and is still functioning as a farm market and Greenhouse to this day
